Heey! Happy Friday everyone! I am so glad it's finally the weekend. Even though we had Monday off, this week still dragged on! Am I the only person who noticed that? Anywho, to start off your weekend of relaxing why not try my new protein smoothie recipe? More specifically..this amazing Peaches ‘n' Cream smoothie. It's like eating a dessert that's good for you! Now who wouldn't want that?
Ingredients:
7 small ice cubes
1/2 cup almond milk (*Note: I like my shakes thick to the point where I can almost eat them with a spoon. If you want a thinner shake use 1 cup almond milk)
1/2 cup (93g) sliced frozen peaches
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used designer whey french vanilla!)
2 plain “lite” laughing cow cheese wedges (could most likely sub 2 tbsp low-fat cream cheese)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp xanthan gum (helps to make shake thick and creamy but it you can still make it without! Flax seeds could also help thicken your shake a little)
Directions: Place all ingredients into a blender in the above order (or just add protein powder near the end so it doesn't stick to the bottom). Blend on high until smooth and creamy. Pour into a tall glass and top with additional cinnamon or pecans! Enjoy 🙂
