THE KETO BOX REVIEW

The Keto Box Monthly Keto Snack Subscription has been something I've wanted to try for SOOO LONG.

I am always that person trying/buying the latest keto snacks. Outside this blog I also work at a supplement store part-time and I get to see all the newest little treats early one. But sadly I still miss out on a lot of snacks and goodies that aren't sold in our area.Disclaimer: This post contains some affiliate links. If you choose to purchase an item through one of these links, I may receive a small commission. This does NOT affect your purchase in any way!

So out of pure luck, after planning on placing an order with The Keto Box myself at some point, they were nice enough to reach out to me and send me one to review for my Instagram and website!

(So no, I'm not getting paid to write this BUT yes, the box was gifted to me!)

Either way, I want to be as honest as possible when reviewing the box! I don't like to sugar coat things. If I don't like something, I'll tell you! But I have a feeling things will be pretty tasty.

What Is The Keto Box & What Does The Keto Box Subscription Cost?

The Keto Box is a monthly subscription where you pay a set amount of money to receive 10+ different keto snacks each month. They even offer extras like a FREE 28 day meal plan along with the box.

Currently the box costs $36-$40 US/ month depending on which plan you go with. Each plan also comes with free shipping, a FREE 28 day meal plan, a FREE 20 minute keto coaching call after the 2nd shipment and exclusive monthly coupons.

The Keto Box delivers NEW keto snacks each month, this means the boxes are never the exact same so mine is just one of the many boxes you'd end up getting. They are always very up-to-date with the most recent keto innovations and small start-up companies.

If you like a keto box a lot, you can actually request to receive a past box instead of a new one to get the same items again.

So What Snacks Are In The Keto Box?

As I mentioned before, they change monthly but you'll receive treats like protein bars, keto cookies, shake mixes, keto granola bars, coffee creamers, sugar free syrups, chips, crackers, canned drinks, baking mixes, flavoured nuts, sweeteners, dried meat products (peperettes/ jerky), seasonings, dried cheese snacks, and other really unique snacks you may not have seen anywhere else.

It's really impressive how many new and different products you'll see in their boxes each month!

What Was In The July 2020 Keto Box?

Okay, we now know what The Keto Box is and generally what you receive in each box…

So let's have a look at the July Box I received to get a better idea of what to expect!

On to the un-boxing we go!

Note: If you want to see my Keto Box un-boxing video, you can head over to my instagram (@sammysamgirl) and click on my highlights “Keto Foods” where it will be the last couple of posts in that highlight.

Opening The Keto Box

Upon opening the box, I was pleasantly surprised with how neatly everything was organized and how well it held up through the whole shipping progress. They definitely have their packaging down!

dill pickle quevos chips

dill pickle quevos chips review

Snack #1 – Quevos Low Carb Egg White Chips | Dill Pickle

The first snack that caught my attention was the Quevos Low Carb Egg White Chips! These are dill pickle flavour and I absolutely love everything with dill pickle seasoning. I used to drench my popcorn in the stuff as a kid.

The packaging on these is really cute and it definitely made me want to try them right away!

And guys….These things are SO GOOD. If you miss chips, I HIGHLY recommend them, wow.

I was a little concerned because I saw they were made with egg whites but they don't taste like egg whites at all. Just pure delicious dill pickle flavour.

These crackers remind we of the texture of crispers or something, I think that's the best comparison I can come up with.

These are gluten free, grain free, keto friendly, high in protein & fibre, made with avocado oil and just 140 calories & 4 NET carbs PER BAG! Love them.

These definitely get a 10/10 for me!

picnik vegan creamer review

picnik vegan creamer review

Snack #2 – Picnik Vegan Creamer

This one is not technically a “snack” per-say but nonetheless, I was very excited to try it. Normally I put light cream not heavy cream in my coffee ( I know, NOT THAT KETO) but I just never liked how thick and calorie dense heavy cream was.

So trying this creamer was really refreshing. It's light but not TOO light like putting straight almond milk in your coffee or something. It's got a great flavour and honestly for being vegan as well, I'm really impressed. It has 0 NET carbs and 0 sugar per serving. It even has MCT oil added to it, which is great because normally I have to add it myself to my coffee and I end up with little blobs of MCT oil floating around. Not cute.

Anyways, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to purchase this but if something gave it to me or it was available locally, I'd happily purchase it once in a while and drink it in my coffee! If you are vegan, this could be a game-changer for you!

This gets an 8/10 for me!

fat snax cookies review

Snack #3 – Fat Snax Keto Cookies

These were actually pretty easy to review considering I've already had them before! I actually ordered them a while back when I was selling Keto Cookies myself to “check out the competition”. LOL

I've tried all of the flavours in these and the peanut butter was my favourite. Chocolate chip is OK. The cookie texture is nice if you like really soft cookies. They aren't crunchy at all.

I think for the average keto-er they would love these! I'm just a bit picky because of my own baking experience and of course I'm biased towards my own cookies, haha. But overall, these make a tasty snack and I like that they give you two smaller cookies in a package so it feels like you get to eat more! They are 2g of NET carbs per cookie, which makes them really easy to fit into a ketogenic diet.

sea salt caramel stoka bar review

These get a 6/10 for me!

Snack #4 – Stoka Salted Caramel Bar

YESS, love this one. I had already tried the Stoka PB & J bar previously so I knew I'd probably like this one too.

These bars are so different from other keto bars I've tried. I LOVE that they have a crunchy texture rather than the typical soft bar texture that most protein bars these days have.

The flavour on these is great and the fact that they are ALSO vegan & gluten free is crazy to me. I think they did a great job. I'm not sure if these are the absolute BEST low carb bars I've ever had, but they are definitely high up there on the list. They offer ~9g of protein per bar, 6g of fiber and 4g NET carbs.

I actually have a bunch of other Stoka products I reviewed on my instagram and in a blog post HERE. You can use SAMMYSAM on their website for 20% OFF!

This gets an 8.5/10 for me! ketologic meal replacement review

Snack #5 – Ketologic Keto Meal Replacement Shake

This one was cool! I received 2 of these in the package. It's basically a shake to replace a standard keto meal if you are in a hurry or on the go. It's designed to support fat loss on a ketogenic diet and enhance your state of ketosis.

I had the chocolate flavour which is 250 calories and 3.5 NET carbs per serving. It's mixes up easily and is very smooth and creamy. It's also quite filling considering it's high fat content! I would recommend blending it with almond milk or light coconut milk along with some ice for added creaminess as it was just OK with water.

The almond milk and ice add to the flavour and it cab be really delicious if you're craving something cold and sweet!

fbomb pork sticks review

This gets a 6.5/10 for me!

Snack #6 – FBOMB Salt & Pepper Pork Stick

Straight off the bat I knew I was going to like this one. I'm a sucker for anything similar to pepperetes or beef jerky. This did not disappoint.

Really nice texture, not too hard to chew/bite. The flavour was good! Although, for my own tastes I would have preferred one of their spicy sticks better than just a plain salt and pepper flavour but that's just me.

Overall, a nice little snack and great if you are craving savoury rather than sweet. (Each stick has about 120cals and 1g of NET carbs).

This gets a 9/10 for me!dang bar lemon matcha review

Snack #7 – Dang Bar

This was another vegan/gluten free bar! These are definitely similar to Stoka Bars with their slightly crumbly texture rather than the typical chewy bar texture, but I'd yet to try these yet prior to getting my Keto Box.

I received the Lemon Matcha flavour, which to be honest wouldn't be my first choice after looking over all the other flavours on their site. But I still gave it a shot.

The bar has 15g of fat, 9g of protein and 5g of NET carbs.

It's slightly crunchy because of the chia seeds, sunflower seeds and almonds in it, although because of the cocoa butter it's also got a smooth base. The lemon flavour is VERY prominent. Which to other people I gave a bite, was actually a good thing because they enjoy lemon desserts.

For me it was a tad bit strong but again, I'm not a huge lemon lover so I'm SURE I would enjoy their other flavours.

Overall this bar surprised me. I thought I'd hate it because I've had lemon bars in the past that were downright awful (I'm talking to you Quest Nutrition, LOL), but this is actually quite tasty. Dare I say, I might even buy these again.. of course, with an assortment of other flavours.

This gets a 7.5/10 for me!keto farms maple candied pecans

Snack #8 – Keto Farms Maple Candied Pecans

This one is close to my heart. Keto Farms reached out to me about a year ago when they were first starting their company and asked to send me some samples…of course I said yes!

I received little brown paper packets with different flavoured mixes of dried cheese and nuts. They were really good! My roommate at the time approved of them as well!

They also sent us some cool matcha drinks and creamer as well.

Now here we are today and look at that beautiful packaging! They've seriously come so far from their original products.

I hadn't tried their Maple Candied Pecans before but based on the other products of theirs I tried I knew they'd be tasty.

I was right. Very good! I mean, how can you really go wrong with candied pecans?

These have very simple ingredients and use a combination sweetener that consists of monkfruit and erythritol on their pecans (which, if you are a regular follow of my recipes, you KNOW is my number one choice for sweetener).

These get a solid 9/10, only 1 point off because I want a bigger package.  But I guess portion control is a good thing for most of us… LOL.

gra-pow granola review

Snack #9 – Gra-Pow Cookie Granola By The Ketogenic Baking Company

This was probably one of the most unique snacks in the box. It took me a while to figure out what it was to be honest! But once I did I thought it was a really neat idea.

It is basically a cookie granola you can sprinkle over low carb yogurt/ice cream or eat on it's own.

I got the peanut butter cup flavour, which I was plenty happy with but it also comes in other flavours such as, snickerdoodle and PB & J.

It's 160 calories per serving (1/2 a packet) and 3g NET carbs.

I tried this just on it's own but I think it would be better with yogurt as I mentioned because it is quite salty for my taste and I typically love salt! LOL.

I'm not sure I would buy this again but I'll probably still find ways to use this up. I actually think it would be great in a sweet and salty no-bake chocolate macroon cookie with coconut and melted chocolate….mmm.. or any other cookie recipe where you want to add a little something extra!

This gets a 5/10 because I still think it has potential to we used in baked goods or on top of some low carb yogurt!

keto munk pack granola bar review

keto munk pack granola bar review

Snack # 10 – Munk Pack Keto Granola Bar

I've always loved granola bars. Protein bars are great but I grew up on granola bars so to find one that's keto is awesome.

This bar contains just 2g of NET carbs, 5g of protein and is also vegan and gluten free.

This Chocolate Peanut Butter bar 100% reminds me of the granola bars I ate when I was younger! If you didn't tell me this was keto, I never would have guessed.

If you are looking for an alternative to your standard “chewy bar” or typical granola bar, these are it. Very tasty and I'm sure even kids would approve of these!

This bar gets a 9/10!

And that's it! That is my keto box reviewed!

Overall this box was a big win. I found some products I'd definitely like to try again or try other flavours in including the Quevos Egg White Chips, the Munk Pack Keto Granola Bars & the Stoka Bars. I'd probably buy the Dang Bars & FBOMB sticks again too to be honest!

Honestly there wasn't anything I hated in this box!

The idea of The Keto Box is to get you trying new snacks you've never had before so you know which to buy before you go and purchase a whole box of something.

I think they did that really well.

If you are thinking of purchasing a subscription to The Keto Box, I say go for it! Working in the supplement industry, I know these 10 products alone would have costed me $60.00+. I also would never have purchased half of these products had I tried to find them locally or not been able to sample them first. So to get them for just 36$ delivered to my house monthly, I'm pretty cool with that. In my opinion, this is the best keto box subscription (as there are others that provide a similar service).

Update on “The Keto Box Review”: I just got my November box and it's amazing! Super excited to try the pumpkin syrup in some of my holiday baking!
