My Personal Workout Regime & Fitness Myths/Excuses

Heyy everyone who is still awake! haha another late post, I always end up doing my workout really late at night then eating my post-workout snack while doing a post or two for the blog. Turns out today isn't a recipe but instead I thought I would let you all know what I do to keep in shape. I wanted to also go over a huge myth and something that annoys me very much about people's views on working out! Keep reading if you are interested. 🙂

My Workout Regime & The Biggest Workout Myth Ever:
So to start off, I just wanted to say that I love fitness, nutrition and working out but let's be honest, on a late night, when I have a ton of homework, the last thing I want to do is a workout. So what do I do? I still do the workout(almost every time..). How do I convince myself to do it? I keep my workouts SHORT and INTENSE. This is the ULTIMATE reason I have been able to to stick to my workout regime. When I used to do long workouts, I would get bored and dread doing them because I felt I never had the time and I would then choose to just opt for bed on a late night. But with short workouts that doesn't happen. I know I can some how fit a 10-20 minute workout into my night no matter how busy I am. No excuses! So that myth that you need to workout for at least 30min, an hour etc. to get results is totally not true! You can get results with short workouts as long as you keep them intense and include them everyday. (I take no rest days unless I feel I need one, but 6 days a week is ideal for most people). Instead of doing a long slower paced workout, you shorten your time which means in those 10-20 minutes you need to give it your all! These small workouts are not easy and challenge me every time. If you are not huffing and puffing by the end then you are not working to your max! So there is my little rant about that frustrating myth.

Another myth that drives me insane is that people think a gym is necessary to get fit. To be honest I prefer working out at home and I've gotten awesome results just by doing mainly body weight workouts with my only additional equipment being a set of dumbbells every now and then! You don't need all that fancy equipment! Really I promise you!

Now remember, next time you give yourself one of these excuses:
“I don't have time to workout”
or
“I don't have proper equipment”
or
“I can't get to the gym today”

remember,

You always have time, your body is your best workout equipment and a gym is not necessary to get fit.

One quote that I've always loved is:
“You get out of it what you put into it”.

So if you work hard, you WILL get results. Don't give up, I am telling you it is so worth it.

Question: Would you guys rather have a new workout or a new recipe for the next post?

Let me know! And feel free to ask me anything about fitness/nutrition as always!
