Hey guys! oh my gosh, It feels like it's been forever since I have posted! I have just been so busy with school, friends and everything else that I haven't had any time! I have felt so bad about not posting because I promised a new post on this like a week ago… Anyways I am glad to say I am finally getting around to it! I want to share with you guys the BEST “diet” more like lifestyle..on the planet!! I have never been happier with what I am eating and I have found such a perfect balance between health and enjoying life..it's amazing so I want all of you to be able to find that balance as well! So..
Have you ever heard of IIFYM? If not..it stands for “If It Fits Your Macros”. You can probably research into the details of this because there are many forums explaining the topic further, but basically it means you can eat ANY foods as long as they fit into your macros for the day. This includes..ice cream, cookies, cakes, pizza etc. you name it! BUT, haha yes there is a catch. I am not telling you to go out like a crazy person and eat every piece of junk food in site. As well, you try eating at least 100g of protein in junk food like chips/cookies, it's not easy! So instead, how this diet is suggested to be used is like so..
RULES YOU MUST FOLLOW FOR IT TO WORK:
1.For the day, figure out how much protein, fat and carbs you want to eat to meet a certain calorie goal (weather your goal is to lose weight/gain weight etc.) You MUST have a minimum of 1g-1.5g protein/pound of LEAN bodyweight & 0.4-0.5g fat/pound of LEAN bodyweight (You can always have more than the minimum but whatever calories are left over, those are the ones you fill with carbs).
Once you've figured out your necessary calorie intake and macros you now need to worry about some finer details including..
2.-Making sure you get at least 25g of fibre/day if not more
3.-Making sure you hit your necessary “micro” nutrient intake (This means getting all of your recommended vitamins/minerals for the day) Now I know many of you will ask..can't I just take a multivitamin for the day and be done? Well, possibly. This is a controversial topic at the moment but for me personally I feel better knowing that I am getting my vitamins/minerals from fresh fruits and veggies rather than a pill. I will only ever take a vitamin C pill or supplement if I know I am lacking in that specific vitamin for the day and I was just a little off from my requirements.
4. Try to get 80-90% of your calories from good “clean” foods. Once you have met all of your requirements for the day, the rest are yours to do with what you please!
And there you have it. It's really not a difficult lifestyle to stick to. I use myfitnesspal to track everything and it has made life 100x easier. I also have to say that for me personally this way of eating WORKS. I have never seem such amazing results as I am now. I just ate this giant bowl of rocky road froyo and a pulled pork sandwich for dinner..jealous? You could eat this too! I had pizza for the first time in forever last week..why? because I am meeting my requirements, 90% of my food is super clean and it FITS MY MACROS! I can enjoy life again and eat out with friends. I don't have to be that crazy health obsessed person. I wish I could share this diet with everyone because I think people would find getting into shape a whole lot easier.
Now I said I would share my personal macros if anyone is interested since I previously posted my workout split. Currently I eat 1750cals a day and my macros are about 197g carbs, 109g protein, 64g fat. I personally don't worry a whole lot about my fat/carb ratio because some days I like more fats and less carbs, somedays I like more carbs. It just depends. But usually I am pretty close to those ratios so that's what I go by. But no matter what I always eat the same amount of calories. Anyways I hope you guys try this lifestyle out, I guarantee you will like it! Let me know what you think and goodluck to all of you! 🙂

Disregard my previous comment on your first "diet plan," it appears you've transitioned into IIFYM, which is a much better plan.

Hey! Lately it's actually been chapman's sugar free/lactose free butter pecan! It's sooo good!! But I've also been obsessed with my local gelato lately.. The best is peanut butter dulce de leche with a scoop of baccio( chocolate hazelnut!) yum!

So do you use myfitnesspal to track your intake daily, or do you just estimate? Using myfitnesspal seems a bit too much...

Hey, I use myfitnesspal and really it is better than estimating! I barely think about my food now because myfitnesspal takes care of all the tracking for me& I can just re-add meals from the previous day ( I am pretty consistent with what I eat) and you can scan a barcode to add the food in seconds :) it's really quite helpful. I had always thought it was too much as well until I tried it for myself :P. I use my phone so it's convenient. It's also important because for me I am really sensitive to fibre intake so I need to make sure I eat enough and this helps a lot ! Also, I don't plan my whole day all at once, usually I add things as I go so its not all planned out& I can add treats if I want ;) :). Anyways hope that explains!
