Heyy, so I had this delicious after school snack today. I was craving something like a smoothie or some sort of drink since I came home very thirsty! This definitely hit the spot haha. This recipe is not mine but I was thinking of making something similar for a while so I thought why not? It’s very low-carb and low-fat if that’s what you are going for and its super delicious. Try it out! Take me to the recipe!
Woah, that title is a mouthful! So, I’ve got another great recipe for you all. This one contains a special “surprise”… Actually it’s not much of a surprise but I added spinach to this pudding! It’s my new favourite thing to do because you get all the goodness of greens but without the taste. This is perfect to use up all that spinach that you just can’t bring yourself to eat! Don’t like spinach? No worries, you will like this pudding! It is creamy and delicious, it feels like you are eating dessert for breakfast. Topped with a few crushed pecans and mini dark chocolate chips, this is absolutely decadent.
1/2 cup almond milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder( I used designer whey french vanilla)
1/2 tbsp natural almond butter
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 cup quick oats
1 tsp flax seed
1/4 tsp xanthan gum (could possibly sub flax seeds)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 handful of spinach
2 drops stevia (or honey/agave/maple syrup/splenda)
8-9 ice cubes
Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender(start with ice) and blend until smooth and creamy. Add a little extra xanthan gum if necessary or more/less ice and almond milk depending on how thick you want your pudding! Top with pecans/mini chocolate chips or sugar-free chocolate syrup( recipe coming soon to the site!).
Calories: 287 (my protein powder is 100cals a scoop)
I also made these delicious skinny chocolate protein pancakes with my own sugar-free chocolate syrup, peanut butter and bananas for breakfast the other day. They were so good! (Recipe from dashingdish.com)
Hey guys! I finally tried adding spinach to my smoothie today! It actually was amazing! Thanks Tara for the awesome idea :). I feel so good knowing I am getting some greens in at breakfast too now. This smoothie ended up being huge! It was almost spilling out of my little blender haha. Shown in the picture isn’t even the whole smoothie! But it kept me more full then usual. Did I mention it tasted super good? Plus..I got a new protein powder that is absolutely amazing. Hands down the best one yet! It actually makes my smoothies taste better! So if you feel that your not getting enough veggies and greens but can’t bring yourself to eat them, look no further, this smoothie has come to the rescue. Take me to the recipe!
I guess I am in a tropical mood lately because here is another recipe that brings me back to my vacation every time I take a sip! It’s absolutely amazing. Possibly my favourite new protein shake! This is soo rich and creamy, if I could I would drink at least 2-3 cups of this stuff haha. It’s that good! Here’s how you can make it too! Take me to the recipe!
Good Morning! Happy Saturday everyone 🙂 I hope you are all still eating clean as always. I have a new recipe for you guys if you are in that awful breakfast rut I know we all get in. I’ve been there. Breakfast has got to be the hardest meal to figure out what to eat. For me, I just have to have something sweet or carby for breakfast, I like eggs but personally I am not the biggest fan of them. That’s why smoothies are my go to breakfast! There are so many new and delicious combinations of fruit, it’s hard to get tired of them. Only problem is..it’s cold outside and I am drinking an ice cold smoothie…not the best combo. But to me it’s worth it. I will just huddle up near my fire place with a ton of blankets covering me. That’s how I spend my every morning haha.
Back to the smoothie, the mango and strawberries together make this so sweet tangy and delicious. It almost reminds be of a creamy fruit dessert. Try it out and let me know what you think!
-5-6 small ice cubes
-5-6 large sliced and frozen strawberries
-1/3-1/2 cup frozen mango slices
-1/2 tbsp flax seed (optional, helps to thicken shake and add healthy fats!)
-1 tbsp plain 0% greek yogurt
-3/4-1 scoop natural vanilla protein powder (I use the PVL brand)
-1/2-1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk depending on the consistency you want your shake to be (add slowly until you like it)
-Optional: Honey for added sweetness(I didn’t add any since I found it to be already sweet enough with the fruit and protein powder).
Directions: Place ingredients in the blender in the order listed to avoid protein powder sticking to the bottom of the blender. Blend on high until smooth, pour in a large cup and garnish with a fresh strawberry..enjoy!
I hope you all love smoothies as much as I do because this one is a keeper! I previously made a blueberry almond smoothie with just blueberries and it was okay but with the addition of banana this shake was amazing! It requires no additional sweeteners since it is already very sweet on it’s own. It’s also great for a quick breakfast if you are in a hurry! Here’s what you’ll need: Take me to the recipe!
Hey everyone! I am so happy to share with you this recipe but also if you’ve been to my site before, you may notice I have a new header! Okay, so..not that exciting to all of you but it took a lot of work to create a new one! I felt like my old header was a little out of date since I made it when I first created the website. This new header is much prettier in my opinion, haha and it better reflects me! Anyways, before I get on to the recipe I just have to tell you my reason for not posting yesterday..Well, I was making my after school snack as usual and I poured myself a tall glass of water. If you don’t know, I am probably one of the most clumsy people you will meet. So of course, I spilt my whole glass of water. Now that would have been alright, I mean it’s not hard to clean up water but where of all places did that water land? That’s right, all over my Macbook Pro. As you might picture, I immediately started to freak out and turned the laptop upside down as it dripped out water. I put it on a towel upside down like that with a fan blowing on it for the rest of the day and today I cautiously tried turing it on and I am soooo happy to say it works! (Knock on wood). I guess macs are tougher then you might think! So that is the reason I didn’t post anything that day! Just thought I’d share :). Now finally onto the recipe!! Blueberry Almond high Protein Smoothie! *No there is no protein powder. This drink is perfect as a filling quick breakfast! Take me to the recipe!
Another one of my frozen-fruit concoctions. This one was a nice change from eating my usually raspberry-banana I eat everyday 🙂 All I did was replace the banana with peaches! Take me to the recipe!
