Keto Sugar Free Sour Gummies

Keto Sugar Free Sour Gummies-3

We are throwing it back to our childhood today with a classic gummy favourite!

These Keto Sugar Free Sour Gummies remind me of riding my bike on hot summer days just to get to the nearest corner store so I could pick up a bag of assorted sour candies for a few cents each along with a slushie composed of every flavour they have available (aka swamp water).

My friends and I would race back home before our slushies fully melted and have a “picnic” with our candies on the roof of my garage. (Yup you heard that right. We'd climb up the club house next to the garage, out its window and onto the garage roof).

Those days will forever stick out in my memories.

That's why I wanted to create a Keto version that my friends and I could still enjoy today with maybe just a tad less sugar…(okay, no sugar at all, let's be real!).

This sugar free gummy candy is made using very few ingredients making this ideal for kids or those days when you just really don't feel like baking.

You can technically make these sweet sugar free gummies OR sour sugar free gummies. Personally sour is my thing, but I know everyone is different!

You can also flavour these however you want because it's literally just sugar free powdered or liquid drink mix that you add to make them! I use Strawberry Lemonade Crystal Light for this recipe but you could use blue raspberry, lime, lemon, orange, strawberry kiwi…you name it! Whatever drink mix you can find. You can even use natural lemon or lime juice and your own sweetener to make these without a drink mix.

Overall These Keto Sour Sugar Free Gummies are very versatile and a super fun keto candy recipe to share with friends and family!

Ingredients In Keto Sugar Free Sour Candies

  • Gelatin Powder – I use the Vital Peptides Gelatin or The Organika Brand
  • Crystal Light/Mio – Sugar free water flavour enhancer that you can use to sweetener your jell-o
  • Citric Acid – Ideal for making sour candies or enhancing fruit flavours, you can find it at health food stores or can order it online!

Tips For Making Keto Sugar Free Gummies

  • Make sure to give them enough time to set before flipping them out of the pan or you'll end up with a big mess!
  • Feel free to switch up your flavourings and try new combinations.
  • The sweetener WILL dissolve into the keto gummies along with the citric acid so I recommend tossing them just before serving for best results.
  • I use granular xylitol sweetener to coat them because it takes longer to dissolve on contact. You can use this yourself just be cautious if you have pets as it can be harmful to animals, especially dogs if consumed.
