This delicious recipe is perfect for those freezing days of winter! It has no added sugar and very little fat and did I mention it's low carb?
Ingredients:
-1/4 cup almond milk (If you really like almond milk you could replace some of the water with more almond milk to make it thicker but I don't like the almond milk to overwhelm my hot chocolate personally)
-3/4 cup water
-1-2 heaping tbsp hershey's special dark chocolate cocoa powder(or any other cocoa but hershey's is really good!)
-1/2 a tbsp splenda or more to taste
-tiny dash of salt
-1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Optional: 2-3 drops of mint/peppermint or coconut extract.(I've tried both and they are delicious! But remember only a few drops at a time! Extracts are strong!)
– 1 tbsp fat-free whip cream & 1 tsp cinnamon to top.
Directions:
Put the water and almond milk in a microwaveable measuring cup for 2-3 minutes depending on your microwave. In the mean time combine the cocoa powder, splenda & salt in the bottom of a mug. Pour the hot water mixture on top of your dry ingredients. Stir to combine and add the vanilla extract and other extracts if using. Taste and add more splenda or cocoa powder until desired sweetness. Top with whip cream and cinnamon! Be careful it's very hot 🙂
